One Night with the King...
This morning I was so sleepy and lazy to get up, and I was thinking to skip sunday service, but then I said to myself... no this is not good, I need the message from God today, and if I didn't go, I will have to wait for another week to praise and worship God together with all the congregation... I will miss the good times at church, and you know what, thanks God I didn't miss it.
This morning was so amazing... because the preacher is Tommy Tenney, the author of the book Hadassah: One Night with the King, which the movie was released last Friday, Oct 13th, ooo my gosh I can't believe it, I enjoy the service so much. I saw the movie already on Friday, the premier, with my friends from church after we celebrate Feina's b'day at my apartment at night. We've planned weeks to see this movie together on the first day it is released.
About the movie itself, I found it's quite good, eventhough some of the scene seems unrealistic for me, especially the love scene, and some of the words are kinda difficult to understand because it use old english version (aaghhh I wish there is subtitled ahahhaa), but the message is still there... this movie really makes me want to go back and read through the book of Esther again. A lot of message can be drawn from this story. The movie took place in Susa, Persia (now Iran and Iraq), and can you imagine if it was today, a young girl, an orphan, a peasant girl like Esther became a queen in that kind of place (Iran and Iraq)? what is the possibility of a minority and a jew can be put in such a royal position if not because of God's plan? One interesting fact that I found out is that till now Esther's grave is still guarded by moslem military in Iraq, and became an honourable place for them. Isn't it incredible ? She won the favor of the King and everyone 3000 thousands years ago and still...
I'll tell you one of my favorite part in the movie, which I think is a very good message. Esther and other girls were brought into to a room full of jewelrys, and they can choose any kinds of which that they like and wear it when they spend a night with the King. All the girls except Esther choose what they like, but only Esther is kinda confuse, and Hegai, the King's eunuch who was in charge of the harem asked why. Esther said, she didn't know what to choose, all are beautiful, but she didn't know which one the King likes. Then, Hegai as someone who knows the King well, suggested something, which really won the King's heart. It's so admiring when Esther wants to choose something that King likes, not what she likes. In reflection, I think all this time we always seek what we like, instead of what He likes. We concern more to what people think than what God thinks. The truth is it doesn't matter what we like or other people like, as long as what God likes. Besides, humanity is so fickle, the likeness can change easily, but what God likes stay the same, and we all know God likes praise and worship.
Well... there are still a lot that I wanna share, but I kinda sleepy now and tomorrow morning gotta get up early hiksss... anyway, I encourage all of u to see this movie, besides what I've mentioned above, the places and the dresses Esther wears also are so beautiful hehehhee and one more thing, there are some of funny scene or statement in the movie, which I think I've never seen it in a religious movie ;p
